Now Crist is ignoring conflict of interest to reward US Sugar with a big overpriced land buyout. The State's own financial experts say this may cost $12 billion and raise taxes by $2,400 per homeowner. The NY Times says the price uses peak 2006 land values. Experts say US Sugar will get twice what the land is now worth. US Sugar also will use and pollute the land for at least 20 years after taxpayers pay for it.
14 Tea Party groups are among those who want a "NO" vote on Charlie's Bailout of U.S. Sugar. A SugarLandDeal poll shows 98% oppose Crist (will not vote for him) if the bailout succeeds. 54% will tell others not to vote for him. The agency response: postpone and close a scheduled public hearing.
